About the Role

We're looking for a performance-focused Next.js Developer to craft fast, accessible commerce and product experiences for enterprise brands. You'll work at the intersection of design systems and headless commerce — turning product and design intent into polished App Router applications that scale.

Responsibilities

• Build high-performance web applications using Next.js (App Router) with TypeScript and React.
• Implement design systems from Figma with attention to detail, motion, accessibility, and responsive behaviour.
• Optimise Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP) across marketing and commerce surfaces.
• Integrate Storefront APIs, CMS content, and third-party marketing or analytics tools.
• Collaborate with designers and backend engineers in cross-functional delivery squads.
• Contribute to shared component libraries and coding standards used across client projects.
• Write unit and integration tests; participate in performance budgeting and code reviews.

Requirements

• 3+ years of frontend engineering experience in a professional or agency environment.
• Strong proficiency in React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Solid grasp of CSS (Tailwind preferred) and modern component architecture.
• Experience optimising performance on production web applications.
• Understanding of SSR, ISR, edge rendering, and client-side data fetching patterns.
• Eye for design detail — typography, spacing, and interaction quality.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Shopify Hydrogen, headless commerce, or Remix.
• Familiarity with Storybook and design-token-driven design systems.
• Knowledge of internationalisation (i18n) for multi-region sites.
• Contributions to open-source frontend projects.
