Ekrocx Technologies is a digital transformation consultancy helping enterprise brands build and scale next-generation commerce, data, and analytics solutions across the GCC and beyond. We partner with leading retailers, CPG companies, and B2B organisations to unlock measurable growth through technology and insight.

By combining deep technical expertise with strategic business understanding, we deliver reliable, scalable solutions that enable our clients to innovate faster, streamline operations, and stay ahead in an ever-evolving digital landscape.

About the Role

Join Ekrocx's engineering team as a Senior Commerce Platform Engineer and lead the technical delivery of large-scale headless commerce programmes across the GCC and beyond. You'll architect and build the commerce foundations that power flagship enterprise retail experiences — from data-driven storefronts to custom checkout flows and multi-region catalogue systems.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement headless commerce solutions using Shopify Plus, commercetools, or SAP Commerce Cloud.
  • Design scalable API layers (REST & GraphQL) connecting commerce platforms with CDPs, ERPs, and OMS systems.
  • Lead technical scoping and estimation for enterprise client engagements and RFP responses.
  • Collaborate with UX and strategy teams to define the technical path from discovery through to deployment.
  • Mentor mid-level engineers, conduct code reviews, and uphold engineering standards across the team.
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks — page speed, CDN configuration, edge caching strategies.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and ensure production systems meet agreed SLAs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on commerce platforms.
  • Deep expertise in Shopify Plus — custom apps, Hydrogen, theme architecture, and Admin / Storefront APIs.
  • Strong command of Node.js or TypeScript for backend services and API integrations.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker), and cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure).
  • Solid understanding of e-commerce fundamentals: PIM, OMS, payments, multi-currency, tax.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with commercetools, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or SAP Commerce.
  • Familiarity with CDPs (Segment, Bloomreach) and marketing automation integrations.
  • Exposure to GCC-region payment gateways (Tamara, Tabby, Payfort).
  • Published open-source projects or community contributions.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Flexible working arrangements — remote-friendly with global office access.
  • AED 8,000 annual learning and development budget.
  • Full health, dental, and vision coverage from day one.
  • Access to a senior mentorship network across all disciplines.
  • Regular team off-sites, knowledge-sharing sessions, and career reviews.
